Pai Gow Poker - Players Guide

Pai Gow Poker is an old ancient Chinese game mixed with a game of poker, it is very simple to play once you understand the games rules. The online version uses a deck containing 53 cards the extra card being a Joker.

The game begins with the Dealer and Player getting dealt 7 cards and the aim is to arrange your cards into a 5 card hand called the Highest hand and a two card hand called the Second Highest hand.

If both your Highest and your second Highest hands are both stronger than the dealers you win. All winning poker bets are paid at odds of 1:1 minus a compulsory 5 % commission fee.

Rules of Pai Gow

The 2nd Highest hand is not permitted to have a value greater than the Highest hand.

The Joker may be used to complete a Straight, Flush, Straight Flush or Royal Flush only.

The Joker card is considered equal to the value of an Ace, if it is therefore used in conjunction with other Aces it will make a pair.

If your cards do not contain any pairs or better, the card of highest value must remain in the Highest Hand.

Should both the player and also the dealer have high cards of the same value, then the 2nd highest value cards are compared.

If your 2nd Highest hand value is the same as the dealer's, the dealer wins.

If your Highest Hand value is the same as the dealer's, the dealer wins.

If both the player and the dealer have an equal Highest hand or the same 2nd Highest hand, the dealer's hand wins.

If you win one hand and lose the other, the game is a Push, and your bet will be given back to you.
